For some reason I want to write "Frenchies" in my notes for class (I am a History Major) and say that in lectures as well. My advisor calls them "frogs" sometimes (shes a Social French Historian) as just a label to identify them but I, for some reason, feel comfortable calling them Frenchie cause I think it's cute. So before I make a fool of myself and call them a derogatory term I had no idea about, I need to know if "Frenchie" is a bad term. Is it?

A Social French Historian calling the French by a derogatory name. Wow. She must hate her job, or dislike the French so much she must believe normal rules do not apply to them. I've never heard a French teacher calling Americans 'Yankees', 'Amerloques', or 'Ricains' in class.

Frenchies is not as bad, it is however slightly denigrating. Anytime I heard it used (except as a joke by my British or American friends) it was with a sneer. A slight one, or a big one, but a sneer still, when you use 'Frenchies' outside of a tease you look down on them. You might want to avoid using it in your lectures.

North Korea will on no account attack South Korea. the reason, is easy and intuitive. The North Korean leaders are no longer Al-Qaeda terrorists or Islamist extremists. This helps the view that throughout the time of spite of the actuality that the North Korean management usually misbehaves, it besides the actuality that acts in an extremely calculative and "rational" thank you to maximise its interest. Secondly, "Kim Jong-il has an extremely vast number of Western video clips. He loves them. He enjoys eating very costly French and Italian wines. he will on no account sacrifice this exhilaration of existence. If the North starts off a conflict with the South, the wear would be on the two factors and, importantly, as a effect, the Kim prolonged kinfolk will could resign their privileged existence style. as a result, for North Korea to commence a conflict is going against the financial theory that mandates one to make a extra valuable selection. the entire selecting on Obama is fairly plenty component of North Korean misbehavior - he's a sparkling president and in spite of the actuality that he's new, in all likelihoods could Kim Jong Il step previous the line, the UN could authorize action against North Korea and Obama could have a style extra valid excuse for conflict than Bush did while he invaded Iraq. In that gentle he's scared as his bluffing might actually reason his regime to fall. The President does no longer harbor any phantasm approximately North Korea, the sequence of bluffs and counter bluffs is a factor of the North Korean interest, besides the shown fact that devoid of the help of the two vast supporters they're very plenty by myself besides the shown fact that they are getting help from different international locations. North Korea has 2 faces. on the single hand, this is the ill guy of East Asia, and politically, a reclusive dictatorial state with a criminal record. If Kim tries to influence u.s. he's getting brownie factors even while that's unsuccessful he gets some concessions fantastically now they have nuclear weapons which will the two bypass and be used on South Korea or bypass into the palms of Iran or terrorists.

Both 'Frenchie' and 'frogs' are derogatory terms, and I'm really surprised your advisor uses the term 'frogs'. What is wrong with saying 'French'?

I'm guessing it may depend on whether you yourself are French. The owner of a French bakery I frequent in Atlanta is from Strasbourg, and he refers to himself and others as Frenchies. I think it would not go over so well if I were to use the term, though.

It's safer to refer to them as the French. ie The French are very polite. The French like to communicate. etc.

Yes it is very rude, just as rude as calling them frogs. You should just refer to them as being French.
