Hi,
Im planning on visiting Paris this summer & would appreciate if you would give me inputs as to what to do to make my experience more fruitful.
Im travelling with my family of 4 & would be spending around 8 days there.
Currently, I plan on spending 2 days in Paris, 3 days in Disney Paris, & 3 days in Nice- which would include excursions to Monaco, Monte Carlo & Marseille.
Im taking the two day Paris Pass which would apparently give me free access to a lot of tourist attractions.

I obviously cant do everything, so any suggestions on what I must not miss are welcome. I'd like to visit a few churches, & the usual major attractions like the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, & the Louvre Museum.

Id aslo like to do a spot of shopping- for clothes, shoes & souvenirs, but nothing too expensive. Established souvenir shops catering to tourists are almost always highly over priced & Id love to know if there are any tucked away shops that I could shop at.

Thanks very much !

I went in May and I went everywhere. The following are my favorite places:

Sacre Coure (a cathedral on a large hill top overlooking part of the city)

Seine Cruise at night (amazing)

Champs Elysee (a huges street with shops and outside restaurants)

Arc du Triomphe

Musuee D'Orsay

Louvre

Jurden du Tuillieries (a huge beautiful park that leads up to the Louvre)

You can also go to www.frommers.com for travel tips and advice. It also has a list of attractions with a brief descripton.

Have fun!

I would certainly take everyone on a boat ride down the Seine. I would think the kids would also like some of the parks, like the Jardin Tuileries and Luxembourg and the Champs du Mars, where they have donkey rides. There are also trampolines and a carousel in the Tuileries and its nice just to stroll through these nice parks.

You might all enjoy the Les Halles shopping mall as well. Another carousel on street level and plenty of shopping for you. The kids might also enjoy seeing the tomb of Napoleon and the army museums at Les Invalades and right next to it is the Museé Rodin with another nice garden with his sculptures and it is small and only takes a short while to see. Just some suggestions that you all might enjoy. Have a great trip and lots of fun seeing the other sites too.

Paris traveler answers is pretty accurate.

I would also advise you to visit the Canal Saint Martin. It is less famous than the boat on the Seine but you can discover great places and end your journey on the seine.

See this site for further information http://www.canauxrama.com/e_index.html

Another advice: 2 days in Paris and 3 days in Disneyland is a big mistake to my point of view.

You should do the other way round because the best way to discover Paris is by walk or bicycle (with the velibs http://www.en.velib.paris.fr/comment_ca_marche). So you should be spending you 3 days walking about in the neighbourhoods to better feel the spirit of this city.

Paris is a small city in comparison to London for ex. it truly is a superb place to get "lost" walking, the style of good sort of info shape, a door cope with in the form of a lizard, a 2nd hnd e book shop. i could indde advise driving the boat on the seine yet no meal, undesirable meals and expensive, walking alongside the seine from the Islands to the Eiffel Tower or the assemblee nationale is enjoyabel as you bypass many historic museums/homes the exterior of the Louvres museum at night is exciting, and you will get exhilaration from a cup of espresso or meal at teh Cafe MArly in front of the Pyramid, then walk in the Tuileries The Marais il exciting and energetic truly on Sunday (lots of something of the city is quiet on SUnday different than Champs Elysees) Montmartre to work out the sunlight upward thrust (if dancing all night...) You used to have the means to bypass to the rooftop of the Samaritaine and notice the previous factors of Paris yet shop became closed as desires protection updates etc, Luxembourg gardens are exciting and you have 2 cafes in teh gardens which alos serve meals get exhilaration from, I lived there 20 years and nonetheless woudl hit upon something new common.

please please please listen, don't got to disney Paris instead spend 5 days in Paris to really enjoy the city. Think about it Paris is a life time experience if you have five days you relax and go slower than 2 days. I mean come on Why would you want to spend more time at a theme park when you have Paris? sorry i just read that you are going with your family i suggest you spend a day at disney Paris maybe when you leave. Because Paris is just too beautiful to see in only 2 days. and don't make the miskate i did, dont get swamped by the touristy trash go to the markets or in art gallery shops e.t.c

for 2 days in Paris you won't be able to see much so book a sightseeing tour and then decide where you want to go again.

A must see are:

Arc de Triomphe

Champs-Élysées

Eiffel Tower

Jardin des Tuileries

Jardin du Luxembourg

La Defense

Louvre

Notre-Dame Cathedral

Pont Alexander III

Pont Neuf

Sacré Coeur
