Question:
Train from Paris to Nice?
2008-08-18 04:12:38 UTC
I searched www.voyages-sncf.com and found an overnight Paris-Nice train schedule. For such overnight journeys, is there a room to sleep in or we'll be sleeping on our seats?

Also, when doing searches on www.voyages-sncf.com, it returns results showing TGV and iDTGV. What's the difference between these 2?

For overnight trains you have a choice of just seat / "couchette" = seat transformed in bunk beds (basic sheet and plaid provided) / "wagon-lit" = similar to beds in a cruise boat cabin.

TGV and iDTGV run at the same speed.

iDTGV are less comfortable, tickets are much cheaper, sold only on the internet and non-refundable.

the seats become beds. you pay a little for bedding. there is food available. both TGV and iDTGV go really fast but I think one makes more stops
